A beer kegerator system is a specialized refrigeration unit designed to store and dispense kegs of beer. It's commonly used in bars, restaurants, and by beer enthusiasts at home to keep beer at the ideal temperature and carbonation level
Refrigeration
The kegerator contains a refrigeration system similarto that of a regular refrigerator. This system keeps the interior of the kegerator at a consistent and adjustable temperature, typically between 36-40°F (2-4°C). This temperature range is ideal for serving most types of beer, as it keeps them cold without freezing.
Keg Storage
Inside the kegerator, there is a space specifically designed to hold one or more beer kegs. Kegs come in various sizes, but the most common size is a half-barrel, which holds about 19 litters and 30 litters of beer.
CO2 Tank
To maintain carbonation in the beer and push it out of the keg, a CO2 (carbon dioxide) tank is connected to the kegerator. The CO2 tank typically sits either inside the kegerator or outside and is connected to the keg via tubing and a regulator. The regulator allows you to control the pressure of the CO2 that is used to dispense the beer.
Temperature Control
Many kegerators come with a digital thermostat that allows you to set and control the temperature inside the unit. This is important for serving different types of beer, as some styles require slightly different serving temperatures.
Dispensing
To dispense beer, the Co2 line and beer line must be connected to the Keg Coupler and connected to the beer tank in the cabinet. The beer line connects to the spout so you can tap out fresh beer. according to the picture below
